This little story is about Ben Perry's great granddaughter, Soleil Haydon and goes with the photo: Ben Perry, Grandson Tim Haydon, great granddaughter Soleil Haydon.
My Dad, Ben Perry, called Soleil his "Happy Girl". This describes her personality perfectly! She and Tim visted Dad about one month before his passing, when she was not yet 2 years old, flying from California for this precious, last visit.
I now live in Southern California near my son Tim and his family, so that I can be a "full-time grandma for my two granddaughters. I moved here shortly after Dad passed.
Ove the last few months Soleil (now 3 years old) has often talked about "Grandpa", saying things like "Grampa is watching me". When we ask her what Grandpa is doing, her only response is to hug herself. She has said things like this repeatedly without any provocation from any adult. I truly believe that Dad is indeed around, keeping a close eye on his "Happy Girl". I also believe that young children such as Soleil, can indeed see/feel his presence.
